I’m a bit of a (nepotistic) history buff.

In order to know where you’re going, it helps to know where you’ve been. Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated with the history of the people who came before me. In exchange for the strength I get from their sacrifices, I do my best to find them and tell their stories so that they are never forgotten.

A Family Photo 185 Years in the Making

During the summer of the pandemic I had a question: If all my family members got together for a photo, what would it look like? So, after a few months of research on my mom’s side, this is what I came up with. It’s a multi-generational mashup featuring snapshots from everyone’s lives.

My 4th Great Grandpa, Abraham Hunsaker, helped connect East and West with his work on the Transcontinental Railroad. I’ve always known he was somewhere in this famous photo from Promontory Point but I usually forget where he is.

Now I won’t.

If you ever want to learn more about your own family history, hit me up and we can discover them together.

But seriously though, I would love to help.
